Stillwater, Oklahoma Fire

Stillwater, Oklahoma
Power lines sparked in the storm.
This started fires many places.
Cinders came in like a swarm,
And landed on dry spaces.
The fire rolled down the driveways,
It consumed the dry cedars.
The frightful sight was no child’s play,
Such fear makes you a believer.
This was a force of evil,
A plot that would not be stopped.
Spawned in the mind of the devil,
Demon forces were unlocked.
Hell’s fire was uncontainable,
Reaching out its flaming fingers,
Burning down barns and stables,
No animals would dare linger.
Great homes were in the pathway,
The fire made no distinction.
All made an urgent getaway,
When police said, “Evacuation!”
Responder’s work never ended,
They saved property and lives.
They are to be commended,
Risking their own being at times.
This fire will be remembered,
Life or death would be defined,
By the timing of the embers,
Lighting up the darkened skies.
The wind was wild and wicked,
Moving fire lines like a game,
Too fast to be reported,
Sparks flew over as orange rain.
These are hard times of testing.
No one can answer all the “Whys?”
But our God is never resting,
At war with the father of lies.
Thank You Lord for your sweet grace,
Things could have been much worse.
No lives were lost in this case,
We prayed against that wicked curse.
Evil’s not from God the Father,
It doesn’t jive with His love.
Nor does it come from our Savior,
The Holy One from above.
This is the war of the worlds,
Playing out towards the very end.
When such destruction is unfurled,
Our allegiance, we can’t pretend.
